Map - Malaga Airport to Villanueva del Rosario

Directions to Villanueva de Rosario from Malaga Airport

Overview: Malaga airport is slightly south west of the city. The airport has recently undergone a major restautration and this has included making the access to the motorways much easier.

Google Maps and most navigation systems have not been updated since these works were done so they might try to take on a route that no longer exists. The good news is that it is pretty simple to get on the motorway - as you exit the airport keep right following signs to Malaga and the coastal motorway and then once on the motorway follow the signs for A45 Cordoba /Granada/Sevilla.

Once on the A45 and heading north everything is easy for 27km! Then take the A92M towards Granada and after 4km come off at the first exit and head towards Villanueva del Rosario.

We are based at Calle Fuenta 23, Villanueva del Rosario 29312 in the province of Malaga.

Lat / Long for GPS is 36.995312, -4.363566

(As of October 2014 Google Maps has put our location in the wrong position in town - on Calle Fuente Podarera, not Calle Fuente, plus it thinks that Calle Fuente is called Calle Ines Molina..... the GPS and the directions below should make the situation clearer)

1. Head southeast out of the airport and bear right towards Malaga and the motorway

Then keep following signs for A-45/Córdoba/Granada/Sevilla for 10km on the MA20 and A7 motorways
 11km
2. Take exit 241 for A-45 toward Córdoba/Granada/Sevilla/Antequera
0.8 km
3. Continue onto A-45
27km
4. Take exit 114 for A-92M toward Granada
0.8 km
5. Continue onto A-92M
3.8 km
6. Take exit 20 toward A-7203/Villanueva del Rosario/Villanueva del Trabuco
170 m
0.2 km
7.

Head towards the town passing a petrol station on the very outskirts. 400 m after the petrol station the road takes a sharp left over a small bridge. Carry on over this and 500m later there is another left hand bend in the road over a small bridge.

Immediately before this bridge turn right onto the new road that gives easy access to to old part of the town where we are based.

4 km
8. Follow this road to its end at a T-junction with a playground and small fountain that will be immediately in front of you. Park close to here - there is normally a lot of space for parking.
0.4 km
9.

To find Calle Fuente just walk left from the T junction over the bridge and walk in this same direction for 40m. The road splits - the left hand split is Calle Fuente. We are at Calle Fuente 23 - this is on the right and the house has a large brown garage door and a small sign saying "Rock Climbing Company".

0.15 km

Directions to Villanueva de Rosario

The following table gives directions from Granada airport to our house.

1. Head out of the airport towards the A92 motorway.
1.5km
2. Turn right to merge onto A-92 - direction Malaga/Seville and continue on this for almost 50km until the motorway splits
49.7 km
3. Take exit 177 to merge onto A-92M
16.7 km
4. Leave the A92M at exit 16 - direction Villanueva del Rosario - towards the MA-224
0.3 km
5. Follow the MA-224 until a right hand turn marked with a small "Villanueva del Rosario" sign
1.6 km
6. After turning right onto Calle de los Huertos follow it into town until stopped by a T Junction.
1.7 km
7. Turn right onto the main high street - the A-7203/Av de Blas Infante. Go through town, passing an El Dia supermarket on your right. About 200m after the super market, immediately before a right hand bend over a small road bridge there is a small, narrow road on the left. Turn left into this road - Calle de Antequera
0.4 km
8. Calle de Antequera is only 100m long and merges into the bigger Calle del Arroyo
0.1 km
9.

Stay on Calle del Arroyo for about 350/400m until it ends at a T junction. Calle Fuente is only 50m away on the left, but until you get your bearings it is probably easiest to turn right at the T junction, go over the small bridge and park on the right near the large open space by the fountain.

To find Calle Fuente just retrace your steps over the bridge and walk in this same direction for 40m. The road splits - the left hand split is Calle Fuente. We are at Calle Fuente 23 - this is on the right and the house has a large brown garage door.
