Our base in southern Spain is a recently reformed and comfortable property in Villanueva del Rosario, which has been diveded in two independent flats but can also be hired as a bigger house. This pretty mountain town lies in the hills 35 km north of Malaga and has easy access to a vast range of adventurous activities. The two flats have all modern amenities and there are several accommodation options that can cater for groups of 2 - 9 people. It is a perfect base for an outdoor activities and climbing holiday.

Bed Sit Apartment

The area around Villanueva del Rosario itself has a lot of climbing with many routes of all grades from 3 to 9b+, with some crags being within walking distance and most of them are only a 5 min drive.

The cave containing one of the world's hardest routes - Chilam Balam 9b - is easily seen from the house and can be reached by a 20 minute walk.

The good news is that, apart from the famous hard routes, it has many routes graded 6s, 7s and above (with a few 5s as well)

Excellent crags such as Villanueva de Cauche, Archidona, Loja and El Torcal de Antequera are only 15 -20 minutes drive. The popular area of El Chorro and Turon are about 40 km away

There is also some excellent bouldering, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking in this area.

For those who would like to base themselves at El Chorro we can arrange accommodation, guiding and instruction on-site. We are associated with The Olive Branch which provides a wide range of accommodation from the use of a whole whole house to private rooms or camping with the use of cooking facilities.

Beaches are only 40 minutes away and, if you fancy a bit of skiing, the Sierra Nevada is only 1.5 hours away. The hills behind the village are also ideal for hiking and mountain biking with a myriad of trails that cater for all levels of ability.

In terms of accommodation in southern Spain, there are several self catering options in our base in Villanueva del Rosario, 40 km north of Malaga.

1. Studio Attic - Bed sit

This is a small, but cosy self-contained attic with kitchenette and shower room/toilet.

Facilities include: cooker, microwave, television, DVD player, fridge/freezer, a heater/air conditioning unit and a washing machine. There is a big sofa bed and a three seater sofa that could be used as a single bed.View from top terrace over Villanueva de Rosarario Spain These sofa bed is indeed very comfortable and can be used in bed mode all the time or can be folded into to have more spaceduring the day.

There is also very fast wifi connection: 300 megabytes.

This room is on the third floor and has lovely mountain views from the balcony and has a private, sunny terrace.

Cost: 30 Euro -15 Euro per person per night based on 2 sharing.

2. Silvi's place 2: studio attic plus separate double bedroom, terrace and shower room.

You can have a bigger space enhanced with a separate bedroom equipped with two double beds and its adjacent shower room. There is also access to the second floor terrace. This combination will allow you to have the second and third floor of the house for private use.

Cost for accommodation : 35 Euro per night based on 2 sharing. Additional guests : 10  Euro per person

3. Silvi's place 1

This option sleeps 3/4 and includes

A main lounge with two balconies, TV, video, two tables and 6 chairs, two bunk beds, a big and comfortable double bed, a small single bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen which includes all the facilities described above plus an extra oven and a washing machine, a bathroom and a patio leading to the upper terrace.

4.The whole house

This will include Silvi's place 1and 2 and there are 11 bed places in total.
